Description.

Mehefin is set in nearly half an acre of land in the peaceful village of Llanmaes near the historic town of Llantwit Major in the Vale of Glamorgan. We cater for a small number of guests in a non-smoking environment.

We have 2 double bedrooms each with en-suite shower and WC. There is also a twin / double bedroom with exclusive use of a separate bathroom.

The front of the house overlooks fields as far as the eye can see across the Vale of Glamorgan, whilst the rear of the house overlooks a delightful garden where, weather permitting, guests can sit and relax should they wish.. The village pub - "The Blacksmiths Arms" is a short walk across the village green. There is a pub within 5 minutes walk called the Blacksmiths Arms and several other pubs and restaurants within 20 minutes walk or a 5 minute drive can be found in Llantwit Major.

Bryn & Alison will provide a free taxi service within the locality provided they are available. This is for guests who have no transport or who wish to go for a drink in one of the several local pubs or restaurants.

Mehefin is very close to many facilities in the area:-

• The historic towns of Llantwit Major (3 minutes) & Cowbridge (10 minutes).

• Atlantic College St. Donats (10 minutes)

• The Heritage Coast (5 minutes)

• Cardiff (Wales) Airport 10 minutes drive away.

• The centre of Cardiff for shopping and the Millennium Stadium is less than half an hour's drive away and only 40 minutes by train from Llantwit Major Railway Station.

• The beautiful beaches of the Gower peninsula one hour away and the rugged coast of Pembrokeshire another hour on from there.

• The Brecon Beacons National Park can be reached in an hour.

• St. Athan Military Base is 2 miles away.

Facilities.

Each bedroom has its own coffee and tea making facilities and a FreeView & DVD television. Hair driers and ironing facilities are available on request.

Rates.

B&B rates are:-

• Single occupancy -£40 per room per night.
• Double occupancy - £50 per room per night.

These include a full British breakfast, however, rates can be negotiated for small parties, extended stays & continental breakfast requirements. 

Unfortunately we do not have any credit / debit card facilities at the moment so we can only accept payment by cash or cheque.

How to find us:-

• Between Llantwit Major and Llanmaes there's a bypass (B4265) . 
• If you're coming from Cowbridge along the bypass turn left at the first set of traffic lights.
• If you're coming from the Barry, Cardiff Airport direction, turn right at the 2nd set of traffic lights.
• Whichever way you come, the signposts at the traffic lights indicate Llanmaes.
• Drive into Llanmaes.
• The first turning left is West Acre.
• The 2nd turning left is "Rectory Court", immediately after "Rectory Court" is a crossroads (village green & white bus shelter on your right), turn left here. This is Sigginston Lane.
• Turn up Sigginston Lane, the first building on the left is the village hall, 3 houses up from the village hall is "Mehefin". double gates, red brick drive.
• Pull in to the drive. If you get lost please call on either of the numbers below.
